Learning through play At this young age, children are more proficient at picking up language in meaningful contexts. Their brains are hardwired for language acquisition. Immersion offers children an opportunity to learn a second language the same way we learn our native language – by living it.
By simply being immersed and consistently talking, playing, singing and having lots of fun in Spanish, it results in a rapid language learning program that kids love. Spanish immersion camp provides children a foundation for learning a second language in a fun and positive way.
What to expect?
While your child is in the Spanish immersion program, the teacher will speak entirely in Spanish and communicate using a range of strategies including: pictures, songs, games, body language, expressions, drama, etc. Our teachers are native Spanish speakers with extensive experience teaching kids.
During each week, students will participate in interactive games, music and movement activities, as well as arts & crafts projects that center around a specific theme. Each week culminates with a sing-along and presentation, where the children get to show off what they learned.
.Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the United States and the fourth most important international business language. More than 50% of modern-day English words trace their origins to Spanish. This means that Spanish has a relatively quick learning curve, which in turn boosts a student’s confidence.
Why learn Spanish?
Learning Spanish at an early age... 1. Has a positive effect on intellectual growth. 2. Enriches and enhances a child's mental development. 3. Leaves students with more flexibility in thinking, greater sensitivity to language, and a better ear for listening. 4. Improves a child's understanding of his/her native language. 5. Gives a child the ability to communicate with people he or she would otherwise not have the chance to know. 6. Opens the door to other cultures and helps a child understand and appreciate people from other countries. 7. Gives a student a head start in language.
Give your child a Lifetime Advantage!
The Spanish Immersion Summer Camp is a program that will give your child a chance to actively learn and interact with others in Spanish. We have a terrific curriculum in place. We sing, dance, cook, paint, read stories, and play games with kids, all in Spanish!
